Sleep in Phuket:
Serenity Resort & Residences

It’s no secret that Phuket is one of the most popular destinations for couples and families to visit for a few days (or even extended periods) of peaceful sanctuary away from the bigger, noisier cities. True to its name, Serenity Resort & Residences delivers the serenity and relaxation one could only wish for.

Overview

Serenity Resort & Residences is located in the southeastern corner of Phuket and in front of the quiet Rawai beach, which is less touristic than nearby beaches such as Kata & Patong but still relatively convenient to visit Phuket’s crazier scenes.

From my observation, the only downside of Rawai beach is that it’s a public beach and seems to be a popular fishing location for local fishermen. With their fishing nets/poles and whatnot in place, the beach becomes unsuitable for guests to swim in.

Also, the nearby area around the resort doesn’t really have much to offer. Dining options are limited so this resort is really for those looking for a full experience in an all-inclusive resort.

The resort itself is designed with a modern, clean, white look with very little Thai-style decor or even Asian infusion. Walking around the resort is also a relaxation to the eyes thanks to the lush greeneries throughout the compound. If the greens are not your cup of tea, look up and ahead and you’ll probably be greeted with a calming view of the beach and the islands from afar.

H20 Suite

Being able to experience the H20 suite is a great pleasure! The suite features a contemporary interior design balancing between clean white walls and various brown tones (curtains, frames, floorings and some furniture). The layout is complete with a full bedroom, separate living room with a fully equipped open kitchen and dining area that’s also connected to the suite’s balcony with floor-to-ceiling doors, allowing a ton of sunlight throughout the day and making the suite really airy and bright.

Guests are also spoiled for choices when it comes to bath options. The bathroom is complete with two separate sinks (and awesome bath products) for a couple’s separate personal use, a standing shower and also a large bath tub that’s enough to fit two.

The main highlight that sets the H20 Suite apart from the other room types is definitely the private rooftop pool and lounge area that is located above the suite which is connected through a staircase from the balcony. Heading up, guests are greeted with panoramic sea views that are to die for!

East 88 Restaurant & Beach Lounge / Main Pool Area

Daily breakfast is served every day at the East 88 Restaurant & Beach Lounge in a regular buffet style with a variety of options. Since the resort is pretty secluded, the East 88 Restaurant & Beach Lounge is the main dining option. While the prices can be a bit steeper, the food – a selection of Thai and western dishes –  is pretty good.

For guests without a private pool or would prefer to swim in a bigger pool can head over to the main pool by the beach bar (where you can soak in the water with chill-out music in the background from the beach bar).

Other Facilities

Guests who are hoping to indulge in more activities during their stay in the resort can look forward to the myriad of activities and facilities offered by the resort. Of course, some activities come with extra fees or higher rate than elsewhere – the benefits of being an all-inclusive place.

For the fitness and wellness type, there’s a fitness corner and also a spa center that provides a wide variety of spa and wellness services. I tried the Aromatherapy massage and it was pretty good!

For guests who are looking to prepare their own meal (or even eat out at other restaurants) can take advantage of the Free Shuttle Service provided by the hotel which takes you to the nearby Central Shopping Centre, Phuket Town and even Nai Harn beach (for the sea swimmers).

The Vibe

The vibe at Serenity Resort & Residences is a mix of family and couples thanks to their variety of room types. The resort is generally quiet and guests will hardly be disturbed by anyone or any noise around the compound. Most suites and rooms have a lot of privacy.

However, due to the structure of the resort, staying at the H20 Suite might mean more privacy as the building for this suite is higher (but also further away from the beach) and therefore, your views might include seeing other guests lounging at their Penthouse/Rooftop suites.
